THRIVE School Transportation

All students must have their parent/guardian sign the acknowledgement before boarding the bus. This includes middle school aged students and infrequent riders. Please DO NOT fill out this form unless you absolutely intend for your child to use school transportation. If you do, and later decide not to use the service, please contact Jeff Abbott at jeffabbott@thriveschoolsf.org to let us know.

Acknowledgement of Bus Conduct Rules

At THRIVE Community School we recognize that the bus ride to and from school is part of the educational experience and we work closely with our transportation provider to provide a safe and orderly ride to and from school.

BUS EXPECTATIONS

  • Transportation is a privilege and an exte4nsion of the THRIVE school day. All school rules, expectations, and standards of conduct remain in effect while students are riding the bus.
  • Student safety is our highest priority. Students must conduct themselves in a manner that allows the driver to remain focused on operating the vehicle safely.
  • The bus driver is the authority on the bus and may issue directions as necessary to ensure a safe environment. Students are expected to follow all directions promptly and respectfully.
  • Students and families may be held financially responsible for any damage caused through vandalism or misuse of school transportation.
  • Unless otherwise authorized by the school, students must be met at their designated stop by a responsible adult who approaches the bus after it has come to a complete stop.
  • Parents.guardians are responsible for communicating any changes to transportation arrangements in advance by emailing officemanager@thriveschoolsf.org.
  • To support a safe and comfortable ride:
  • During warmer months, students should bring a water bottle.
  • Please remind students to use the restroom before boarding the bus, particularly if they are assigned to one of the final stops on the route.

Thank you for helping us maintain a safe, respectful and positive transportation experience for all students.

GROUNDS FOR LOSS OF BUS PRIVILEGES

  • Behavior that distracts the driver, creates unsafe conditions, or jeopardizes the safety of others may result in disciplinary action, including parent contact, conferences, suspension of bus privileges, or, in severe cases, expulsion from transportation services.
